Energy Efficiency (white certificate) schemes 101
Energy efficiency schemes – notably the NSW Energy Savings Scheme (ESS) and the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) scheme – are available to support businesses investing in energy efficiency projects.
These schemes operate by requiring energy retailers to meet targets in relation to emissions reductions via energy efficiency upgrades. These reductions are generally met by providing subsidised energy efficiency products and upgrades to energy users, and can be used for a range of upgrades for manufacturers. In particular, project-based methodologies help businesses access incentives for large and custom projects.
